Simon Oakley

Chair, Aphasia Victoria Committee

Simon is a Senior Principal Engineer who leads a team that plans and designs airport systems, specialising in airside infrastructure.

Simon became a member of Aphasia Victoria in January 2020 and was elected Chair in November. He is passionate about improving the lives of people with aphasia and has a dedicated interested in assisting in the provision of support for families and carers.

Simon has been a guest speaker at forums for students, speech pathologists and healthcare workers and has assisted with various university-led research projects. He is a volunteer consumer for Royal Melbourne Hospital rehabilitation, providing support and assistance to those recently affected by aphasia.
